Euroleague Playoffs Draft Guide
Interesting Players to Draft in Each Round
📋 How does the draft work?
Participants: The top 8 teams after Round 34 qualify for the playoffs.
Draft format: It consists of 3 rounds. The selection order is based on the final standings of the regular league and remains the same throughout all rounds (it's not a "snake" format).
Available players: Only players from teams qualified for the Euroleague playoffs can be selected.
Post-draft market: After the draft, the market and auctions reopen, so it's key to have a solid base and room to maneuver.
🧠 Draft Strategy
Prioritize players from favorite teams: Teams like Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, and Fenerbahce have a better chance of going far, which increases the likelihood of them being valuable for the later rounds if you advance.
Winning this round comes first: There's no point in thinking about the semifinals if you don't get past the quarters. Prioritize players who can guarantee points from the start, even if they don't have the easiest matchups.
Balance quality and progression: If you have to choose between a top player from a team that might fall in the quarters and a slightly less stellar player with more chances of reaching the Final Four, think twice.
Watch injuries and rotations: Many teams adjust rotations due to injuries. Staying updated is crucial.
🥇 1st Round
In this round, it's important to secure high-performing players from teams with better chances of advancing in the playoffs.
If top players like Sasha Vezenkov, Nunn, Campazzo, Tavares, Hayes-Davis, James, etc., are still available, they should be your first choice.
Interesting players:
Jabari Parker
Errick Mccollum
Kostas Sloukas
Mario Hezonja
Dzanan Musa
Tyson Ward
Tomas Satoransky
Nadir Hifi
Perry Dozier
Jan Vesely
Marko Guduric
Jerian Grant
⚠️ Note: There are cases like Guduric, who had been having a great season but has recently dropped in performance, so it's important to keep that in mind.
🥈 2nd Round
Here you can find players who may not be the main stars but play important roles and can offer good valuations.
Recommended players:
Konstantinos Mitoglou
Joel Parra
Kostas Papanikolaou
Rolands Smits
Moses Wright
Ercan Osmani
Matthew Strazel
Andres Feliz
Dario Brizuela
Nicolo Melli
⚠️ Note: In some leagues, players like Parra and Mitoglou may be picked in the 1st round, but in other leagues with more options available, they could still be here.
🔍 Tip: Moses Wright and Rolands Smits can be interesting picks for the center position.
🥉 3rd Round
Recommended players:
Cedi Osman
Alberto Abalde
Jordan Nwora
Justin Anderson
Gabriel Deck
Lorenzo Brown
Sebastian Herrera
Serge Ibaka
If you need a forward, Osman, Alberto Abalde, and Nwora can be great options.
🔍 Tip: Players like Herrera and Anderson can be more inconsistent, but the context of their teams and the minutes they've accumulated recently due to injuries make them worth considering.
🧩 Final Considerations
Choose players with more involvement: If you're unsure between two players, pick the one who plays a more prominent role in their team and is less likely to be neutralized by the opponent.
Don't rely only on favorite teams: They may seem like safer options, but if they don't perform well in the playoffs, you could fall behind, especially in series where the difference between teams isn't that large.
The margin for error is smaller: It's not useful to save players thinking about future rounds if you don't have a chance of reaching them. Prioritize those who can score good points in this round, without worrying too much about what might happen afterward, especially if you're torn between two players.
